Last Blog is Vicks last stand

In this blog is going to a little bit off the topic of my specialty story. I is going to be concerning Micheal Vick. More so it sounds like America cares more about pets rather then their own future of America, the children.

I was driving home one night I was listening to the radio and a commericial came on about starting on January first, if you smoke in the car with your children present a person will be charged with a fine. I was thinking to my self that is pretty noble of California to make that regulation. Then they said the fine and it was only 100 dollars. I couldn't believe that.

If a person litters on the freeway it cost at the minimum of at least 350 dollars, but if we give children second hand smoke people only recieve a slap on the wrist.

You are proably thiinking how does this connect to Micheal Vick? Well I was just tracing a pattern that society cares about least important things then our our future of America. Vick is facing felony charges for what he was doing to dogs, but if a parents abuses their child the parent will only serve a couple months in jail and be charged with a fine.

To me that is carzy! Society is basically putting their pets over their kids. I am not saying that what he did was right, I am just saying that maybe we should focus our time and money on more relevant stuff because if who is going to protect the animals if the all the kids no is how to be violent.

Just a little thing for people to think about.

YouTube picks our president

I was watching the news just last week when, funny not suprising, but during the presidential debate they were recieving questions from YouTube rather then the audience.

Now this way is suppose to be helping the candidates campaign because it gets the younger generations more involved with the presidency race with the humor of some of the questions and also the cartoons depictions of some of the candidates.

Both parties of the presidency has taken part in this debate wher topics like gun control and religion were discussed.

However, I asked is this the new way that our president is going to be voted upon. Yes it was interesting to see the questiong picked off of the internet, but alot of the questions and answers were humorous and not based in a serious matter.

To me, that can just cover up a candidates real answer by just making people think that he/she is just joking around.

It does show America the that the world of technology is taking over. Next thing is going to be online ballots where we cast our votes over the internet. It sounds like to me that campaigns are going to just be popularity races.

Then we are going to end up with another Bush because of what the future holds.

Volleyball team one again

Even though our basketball team sucks to Hell, and our football team will never be the glory of Sacramento State. We can always count on one team to raise our spirits during the winter season of sports and that is our volleyball team.

They have one their sixth Big Sky Championship in a row, now I think that is pretty exciting considering the fact that we are not a big school and a team changes a couple of big players every year.

They took on No. 1 Portalnd State where they crushed them 3 to 0 and advance to the NCAA Playoffs.

this is always a big achievement when talking about small named school. Maybe, you no, Sacramento State can be that Cinderella Story because the first game they play will be know horse and carriage ride.

They take No. 1 seed of the whole tournament Stanford. I believe in the hornets because, all they need is that one year to make them exceptional. That is when Disney will make that movie about the underdog Sac State.

Let me digress, this team has my vote and we need one sports team rise rise up to bring our school soem prestige. I think let it be the Sacramento State's Womens Volleyball team.

I would rather keep my dead Six Feet Under

When watching this show on the ABC website, it made me think 'it is pretty creative but man that would be real crazy ta have that power of God'. There is alot going on in the show and you have to keep up with it.

If I had that power, I would be scared to use it, but at the same time curious so I would use it every once and awhile. I would use my powers for good to, to like figure out mysteries of who killed them and things of that nature.

Don't get me wrong, it is a fantasic show with the creativity and the twist of the main character having the powers. However, when it comes to dead shows, I only have one that keeps me alive.

Six Feet Under on HBO is a good show where they do not awake the dead, but dress them up and make them look presentable for the after life. Also, it gets into the mix of the family because they have a lot of issues with themselves and their family.

Sometimes as they work on the dead, the dead talks back to them. Not really, but in there head. They act as there subconcious little Walt Disney Cricket, but people and they are dead.

All in all I think Pushing Daisies is a good show. It is just hard for me to watch to many dead show in one week. I start to feel morbid and sad like. If I knew about the show sooner then later, I would be watching it more the Six Feet Under.

The concept is pretty interesting as in life to, because their are those people that think they can talk to dead people. Thinkin they could bring them back for a second through the eye of the beholder. If this character was real, he would be making alot of money.

Teachers against books

The one thing I remebered about my freshman year of college was my freshman seminar teacher Dr. Clark. I remeber him because that year I worried my whole first couple of weeks on how much these books were going to be for school and how I didn't have the money for it.

For him, I brought it to his attention and he told me "Do not worry about getting the books for my class because the material that you'll learn through college usually doesn't come from the books."
Thinking about it, it is true because usually students are tested on information on the internet or in lecture notes, but still have to spend around 400 dollars on books we won'teven open up the whole semester.
That is what stuck out to me is when the girl in the video held up the sign about spending all of that money on books thatwe do not even open at all. The education that we learn in college comes mostly from experience and not from the books.
Another thing that popped in my mind is taking classes that will not apply to my life or my future life and job.
I rea;;y doubt that I will use Physics for my Journalism goals in my life!

Celtics and the All-sars

This year, the Boston Celtics have a brand new bag. I am talking about a new team with a new like and some brand new stars. Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce. Yes this team is suppose to be the wreckoning of the Celtics when Larry Byrd flew them into the playoffs just about every year.

However, is it to much egos on one team? During preseason, Garnett, Allen, and Pierce had a interview with ESPN columnist Chris Broussard talking about how it is to balance the roles of the scoring role. They played it off real well speaking about all of them are friends and there won't be any problems and that they are professioals and friends. Nevertheless, all of them haas always been the star are their individual teams since they been in the league, until now.

Since the Celtics now have a great array of NBA's elite, they are a favorite to clinch the Eastern Division and make it to the Championship. Plus, their supporting cast is not to shabby with Eddie House, and Leon Powe are good role players to compliment the newly born trio.

They are currently undefeated in the preseason, leading into the regular season. Still having threats in the Eastern Conference like the New Jersy Nets, and the Detroit Piston, but it should be a fun and exciting season for the newly formed team. Celtics are finally getting their luck back.

That one Holiday that brings Love

Christmas time is a okay holiday because you receive all kind of present, but you never receive the one you ask Santa for on the Christmas list you worked so hard on, looking through all the catalogs for that perfect toy and what not.
Can’t forget about Thanks Giving, where we say what we are thankful for and an array of food that we stuff our faces with and watch the older folks watching football. However, that one dish that you have to taste from your aunt is sitting there, and everybody has to get a scoop so we won’t hurt her feelings.
The one holiday that wins hands down is Valentines Day. I say this because this is the one day that everybody is nice to everyone. When strangers open the door for a person and give them a nice big smile. The day when people in their cars let another over and gives a wave. Valentines is that day where the goodness comes out of people and everybody just smiles.
Love is definitely in the air. When children are in grammar school and find that Valentine’s card from that secret admirer, it starts that new relationship. Even for older people if waiting in a Starbucks line and a lady forgets her wallet and a gentleman just pays for her beverage, on Valentines Day that could be the start of a beautiful relationship.
Everybody wins on the day. It gives a reason for dull people to be romantic and spontaneous when they never have been.
There is no nasty food that people have to eat or a present that you never wanted in their life they have to take, it is just the opportunity for people just to think outside of the box in their relationship, or starting to a new one.
I have never experienced a bad Valentines Day even if I didn’t have anyone to spend it with. There have always been good experiences in my past and I always look forward to the next.
So don’t get me wrong, I love my Christmas’s and holidays like that, but there is something makes me feel good and brings love and smiles and new relationships and that is Valentines Day.
